About The Therapist

Inspired to help others improve their quality of life,
Melaney believes regular massages, in addition to proper diet and exercise, is an important tool to help take charge of your health and well-being.
Melaney studied massage therapy at the College of Southern Maryland, graduating in 2012. She received over 600 hours of training in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and the practical application of massage and bodywork. Before moving to the sunshine state, she worked in California, Maryland with Dr. Jay Lipoff from Back at Your Best Chiropractic for over five years. Since then, she has teamed up with Starr Internal Medicine to help clients with wellness and pain management.

Our Services
We offer custom massage sessions to fit each clients individual needs. Whether it’s back pain, neck stiffness, or headaches (just to name a few), we’re here to help!
Deep Tissue
Deep Tissue massage is most beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension and pain. Slow, firm and deliberate strokes are applied to the deeper layers of the muscles and soft tissues of the body. Chronic pain areas are often caused by repetitive motions, past injuries and poor posture.
Swedish Massage
The main focus of a Swedish massage is to relax the entire body. Long, gliding and rhythmic strokes are used to gradually relieve physical and mental stress. It also improves circulation and tissue elasticity.
Pregnancy Massage
Massage during pregnancy is a wonderful tool to add to a prenatal care plan. It reduces many discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as neck/back stiffness, joint pain, sciatica, headaches, leg cramps and swelling. Pillows and bolsters are used to aid in comfort.
Sports Massage
A sports massage is for athletes of every kind, who want to focus on areas of the body that are overused and fatigued from repetitive and aggressive movements. Muscle Energy Technique (MET) is used to lengthen shortened muscles, which improves range of motion, muscle and ligament strength, and prevents injuries. It is an active technique, where the client contracts the muscle of focus against the counter force of the therapist.

Myofascial Release
Myofascial Release is a technique used to stretch and lengthen fascia using little to no lotion. Fascia is the largest connective tissue in the body, which surrounds every muscle, tendon, bone, ligament, and organ. Myofascial Release frees restrictions, eliminates pain and increases range of motion. It is most beneficial for physical trauma and misalignment.
Raindrop Therapy
Raindrop Therapy integrates gentle massage sequences with pure essential oils. Together, they stimulate and balance energy flow throughout the body, along with boosting the immune system. Each essential oil is chosen for their anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory benefits.
Face & Scalp Massage
Addresses headaches, TMJ, sinus issues and is deeply relaxing. Peppermint oil is massaged into scalp at the end of the session.
Hands & Feet Massage
Detailed focus on hands and feet, with dry brushing on lower extremities and essential oils added to lotion.

Enhancements
Aromatherapy
Select pure essential oils to aid in relaxation or therapeutic needs. Essential oils are then added to organic massage lotion.
Dry Brushing
Exfoliates dead skin allowing applied lotion to hydrate more efficiently, detoxifies by moving lymph fluid into lymph nodes so toxic waste can be released, and reduces the appearance of cellulite by softening hard fat deposits and distributing them more evenly.
